limitations: it's two keys instead of one and only works in place of trim end. use split since it adds an audio quickfade, and i notice that after it's split, the clip to the right is selected, so you could hit DEL to remove that clip.
You should put in a feature request or bug report for it with the Magix folks. not sure why they did that, but apparently it's been there a while. split adds the audio quickfade, but trims dont. I fired up Vegas 13 and noticed the same behavior. i hadnt ever used the quick trims (aka fast cuts) but i was aware of the quickfade on the audio (although didnt know it was called that, but now i see the option setting for it). I have used other versions of vegas pro but i got introduced to those fast cuts yesterday when i bought the latest version, it comes in super handy since i have to split and delete hundreds of clips per day so fast cuts speed up the process, unfortunately i couldn't test if this issue was present on other vegas pro versions. The quickfade of the audio is the default setting of vegas pro to create a 10ms audio fade whenever you split a video (Options - Quickfade audio edits), it works perfectly fine when i fast cut the left side of a video but never works when i fast cut the right side. Perhaps that's what the actual name is but i got introduced to it as "fast cut". You can also find the fastcut buttons named "trim start" and "trim end" in the toolbar below the timeline. So the fast cut is a keyboard shortcut (Alt + to fastcut the right side of a video) Basically when you press the shortcut, instead of splitting the video, it splits and automatically deletes either the left part of right part of the video accordingly.
